Bio

Daniela Maria Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas is a Colombian artist living and working in Fort Worth, Texas. DMFCV graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Art History and later obtained her MA and MFA in Ceramics at the University of Dallas in 2023. Inspired by the natural world of her homeland, she focuses on the concept of home and belonging through hand-built sculptures and ceramic installations. She has exhibited in Utah, Ohio, New York and across many galleries in Texas and internationally at the Shibori Museum in Kyoto, Japan in the fall of 2023. She was a winner for the “Gold Standard” call on Artrepeneur and has received honorable mentions at juried exhibitions at Irving Arts Center, Goldmark Cultural Center and the Visual Art League of Lewisville.

She is published in the in-print issue of “New Christian Makers” from Maker Institute of Studio Art + Theology. She has been a resident at the Landline program at the Denver Botanic Gardens and a fellow at Virginia Center for Creative Arts. DMFCV’s more recent exhibitions include invitationals from Love Texas Art Gallery to the group exhibit “Out of the Fire”, the Irving Arts Center for the group exhibit” Marking Space/Holding Time, and Erin Clueley’s “CLAY”.

Regionally her work has shown in the “Texas National 2023” competition at Stephen F. Austin State University, “11th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition” at Artspace 111, and she’s exhibited in international and national ceramic competitions including “Off Center”, at Blue Line Arts, California, and “25th San Angelo National Ceramic Competition” at San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts.
